Where Science Meets Spirituality

Language can be so polarizing. ⁣

In one school of thought we can refer to something as genetic. And in another lineage we can refer to it as ancestral trauma, and yet, not understand that we are really talking about the same thing. ⁣

We can see very clearly from the scientific perspective that genes and gene expression are formed by family groups over time through their behaviors and in response to their environment.⁣

And on the other side of the coin we can hear ancient energetic principles sharing the relationship between a family history of, for example, hormonal imbalances, and the lack of agency and safety that the women in that family have experienced that lead to them holding back their expression for fear of persecution. Which culminated in excessive emotions being held in the body and an imbalance in their hormone system. ⁣

And really, we are talking about the same thing. And yet, on both sides of the table, people are rolling their eyes. ⁣

What I am most interested in is the intersection between our need to prove, and our ability to trust, between science, and spirituality. ⁣

From that place I have found the most healing. ⁣

We need both sides of ourselves to heal, both the logical, and the intuitive, the rational, and the magical. ⁣
