Your Unique Gifts

There was a time in my life where I felt lost, where I was unsure about what my purpose is on this earth. And all I wanted was clarity. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And now that I know what my purpose is, that I have that clarity, it looks a lot different than what I thought it “should” look like. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Let me explain...⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Because ultimately my purpose is to do my best every day to put myself into alignment with the kind of life that brings me joy and pleasure. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And when my life is centered around the things that bring me the greatest joy this naturally creates a sense of fulfillment or purpose. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And the beautiful thing about this is that it is an ever evolving process and we get to explore it throughout our lives. Always asking ourselves “does this bring me closer to joy?” And then having the freedom to find out for ourselves what the answer is. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
But what I have found is that for many people there is a sort of “theme” that their sacred gifts or talents revolves around, and while they may wear many different hats throughout their lives: this theme weaves throughout them all.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And typically, you can trace this theme back to when you were a child, and for many of us who feel lost, or out of touch with what our joy is-this is often one of the best practices available to us to rediscover our purpose. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And it’s incredibly simple: just pull out a journal and start remembering and writing about what you were good at as a kid, what special talents you had especially between the ages of 4 and 13, and how that has followed you into your adult life. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Let this reminiscence remind you of the child you were before the world got a hold of you and you started limiting yourself and clipping back pieces that didn’t fit with outside expectations. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We were all born with unique gifts, and I promise you, when you allow yourself to access them and use them in your daily life-pure magic unfolds. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
One of my talents is with children, and especially babies. When I was 9 I had the pleasure of catching my little brother as he slid into the world. He’s now 22. A few years later another of my brother’s joined us earth side. I spent a lot of time helping with them, and sometimes resenting it, but there is no doubt that being their big sister brought me some of my greatest and most treasured medicine. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So, what is your medicine? Let me know in the comments!⁣⁣
